Holidays With Intention: 3 Takeaways From Our Movement & Nutrition Workshop
This past weekend, we hosted a Movement & Nutrition workshop designed to help you approach the holiday season with more intention and less overwhelm. We moved, learned, reflected, and connected, and the conversations were thoughtful, grounded, and refreshing.
One of the highlights of the morning was making a list of our favourite holiday foods. This simple exercise reminded us that joy, tradition, and comfort matter. The goal isn't restriction, it’s intention.
Below are three key takeaways from the workshop.
1. Mindful Eating Is Not Restriction
Mindful eating doesn’t mean eating less, it means choosing how you want to feel.
When you set an intention for the season, present, grounded, balanced, you take back ownership of your choices. You can enjoy the foods you love while still honouring your wellbeing.
2. Rewrite the All-or-Nothing Mindset
The mindset we bring to the holidays shapes our experience more than anything we eat.
We practiced reframes such as:
• “Every choice is a new moment.”
• “I can enjoy this and still care for my body.”
• “How do I want to feel after eating this?”
These small shifts help you move away from perfectionism and toward a more supportive, flexible approach.
3. Anchor Into Your Habits
Habits create stability during a busy season.
A few powerful anchors include:
• Keeping a simple morning routine
• Drinking 2–3L of water daily
• Moving your body each day
• Maintaining a bedtime routine
• Eating until 80% full
• Putting your fork down between bites
These habits keep you grounded, energized, and intentional, even when your schedule changes.
